A headset is a headphone combined with a microphone or a headset with a microphone. Headsets provide the equivalent functionality of a handset speakerphone. Headsets typically have only one speaker like a telephone, but also comes with speakers for both ears. [1] They have many uses, including telephone call centers and other intensive job and for personal use on computer to facilitate ease of conversation and contemporary writing.
Types of helmets
Headphones can be single or double-ear-phone models. Single earpiece headset is called mono headphones. However, the type double headset stereo (two channels of audio signals, one for each cup) or the same audio channel and ear pieces.

Compatible headset and pin adjustment
Not all headsets are compatible with all phone models. Because the headphones connect to the phone via the standard handset jack, pin-alignment of the device may differ from the standard pin-alignment of phone headsets. Telephone amplifiers
For older phone models, the headphone impedance is different from the original combination, which requires a pair of amplifiers telephone handset. A telephone amplifier provides alignment pins similar to a telephone headset adapter, but also provides sound reinforcement for the microphone and speakers. Most models offer a telephone amplifier for volume control and microphone, headphones and mute switch / receiver. Phone amplifiers operate on batteries or AC adapters.
